(Marengo, IA) — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has ended its oversight of a recycling facility in Marengo that exploded nearly two years ago. Twenty employees of the C6-Zero plant were injured in the blast and part of Marengo was evacuated. The company has been fined nearly 100-thousand dollars for 15 safety violations. The state has sued the company to fund the cleanup of contaminated water.
