(Underwood, IA) — What a baseball season for the Underwood Eagles — a 30-2 record and the team’s first ever state baseball title.
The All-State Baseball teams are expected to come out this week and there will be plenty of honors for Underwood. Four Senior starters leave the Eagles — Mason Boothby, Luke Seidler and Jack Vanfossen will get attention from the Iowa Baseball Coaches — the other Senior in the line-up is Gas Bashore.
There is plenty of talent left in the stable, however, and it starts with Garrett Luett. The Sophomore is a probable first team All State selection. He hit .490 with 3 HR and 33 RBI — on the mound, he was a perfect 10-0 with a 0.60 ERA and 1 Save. Underwood Baseball Head Coach Andy Vanfossen says he has already committed to play baseball for the University of Iowa and he will be a true leader for the Eagles going forward
Another Sophomore Ryker Adair will get some attention for the All State teams but overall, Coach Vanfossen knows he has some holes to fill for his baseball team before 2025
