(Des Moines) According to AAA, the price of regular unleaded gasoline held steady, averaging $3.28 across Iowa. This is nine cents lower than one week ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.51, steady from last week’s price.
The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $5.66 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $77.01. Brent crude oil fell by $3.96 and is currently priced at $81.00. One year ago, WTI crude sold for $78.74 and Brent crude was at $82.53.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 3 cents this week, with a statewide average of $3.52. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.63 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 31 cents lower than the national average of $3.83. Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16
Natural gas prices rose 9 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.15.
