(State) The Iowa Department of Natural Resources roadside bird surveys are about to begin.
John Lorenzen, with the DNR Office in Lewis, said the survey runs from August 1st through the 15th and it’s the primary way the Iowa DNR estimates pheasant and quail numbers across the state.
Lorenzen said conditions have to be perfect for these surveys to be done.
The data from the survey should be available by the end of August.
You can hear more from John Lorezen on the DNR report Saturday morning at around 7:35 a.m. on 96.5 FM KSOM.
