(Creston) You may notice a delay on eastbound Interstate 80 near Van Meter (exit 113) overnight from 10 p.m. on Monday, July 15, until 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, weather permitting. The Iowa Department of Transportation must close the roadway overnight at the Van Meter interchange (exit 113) to allow the contractor to work on concrete paving.
While the roadway is closed, you will follow a marked detour route that uses the ramps at the Van Meter interchange (exit 113). Flaggers will also be present to assist those traveling on Dallas County Road R-16 who want to travel on I-80.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
