(Audubon) In response to numerous complaints about fireworks usage, the Audubon City Council approved an amendment to Ordinance No. 739, titled “Fireworks”.
According to the minutes from the meeting on Monday, the proposed amendment stipulates that individuals must be at least 100 feet away from neighboring properties to discharge any fireworks device, unless explicit consent has been obtained. Furthermore, the amendment specifies that fireworks can only be discharged during approved times: specifically, on July 3rd and 4th between the hours of 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM, and no longer on New Year’s Eve.
The Council also approved a Stop sign and Yield sign at the intersection of 3rd Avenue & Chicago Street to match the intersection of 3rd Avenue & South Street.
