(Area) High wind gusts, hail, and a funnel cloud were reported as a storm system swept through southwest Iowa on Sunday evening.
The initial warning came out at 6:20 p.m. in western Pottawattamie County. One and three-quarter-inch hail was reported at 6:20 p.m. in Crescent. At 6:50 p.m., Emergency Management reported a funnel cloud one mile northwest of Shelby.
One-and-a-half-inch hail fell four miles northeast of Council Bluffs, and a 64-mile-per-hour wind gust was reported six miles northeast of Orient at 9:34 p.m.
The National Weather Service issued storm warnings for Pottawattamie, Shelby, northeastern Cass, Audubon, Adair, Guthrie, and Madison counties.
The weather forecast for this week appears to be drier and warmer, with highs reaching the nineties on Saturday and Sunday.
