(Des Moines) A juvenile died in a head-on collision in Polk County.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says the call went out at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday in the 7400 block of NW Fisher Drive. The Sheriff’s Office says early investigations indicate a head-on collision involving one northbound vehicle and the other southbound.
Ground ambulance transported the two people in the northbound vehicle to the hospitals in the area. The driver was listed in serious condition, and the juvenile was listed in critical condition at the time of transport and succumbed to their injuries.
The occupants of the southbound vehicle were treated for minor injuries and released at the scene.
The accident closed NW Fisher Drive just north of the Cottonwood Recreational Area. No other information is available at this time.
