(Guthrie Co) The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors held a discussion this morning on the future of the Compensation Board.
As of July 1st, the Compensation Board no longer exists. The Iowa legislature passed a bill that allows the Board of Supervisors to decide whether to have a Compensation Board or not. If they choose not to, then the Board of Supervisors will act as the Compensation Board. Compensation Boards were in charge of reviewing and comparing elected official’s salaries and recommending a compensation schedule.
Auditor Dani Fink explained some of the changes to the rules.
Supervisor Mike Dickson…
The Supervisors agreed that they were not ready to make a decision at this time and therefore they tabled action so they can take a further look into the code.
