(Des Moines) The Des Moines National Weather Service says there is a threat of severe weather today through tomorrow in western Iowa, then again on Tuesday afternoon and evening for nearly all of Iowa. Forecasters point to the northeastern portion of the state as the biggest concern. The primary threat is damaging winds of almost 70 miles per hour. Additionally, hazardous heat will affect the western half of Iowa this afternoon and evening and south on Tuesday afternoon.
