(Undated) — Two Iowa companies are suing the state over its interpretation of a new law that restricts THC levels in adult beverages. The lawsuit stems from the Iowa Hemp Act of 2019, which legalized hemp production in Iowa. In 2020, a law was passed with a THC concentration limit of 0.3 percent or less. In 2024, a new law further restricted the potency of hemp products. Climbing Kites and Field Day Brewing Company argue that this interpretation will criminalize their smaller containers. The companies are seeking an injunction against enforcing the new limits.
