(Red Oak) Montgomery County jail inmate fees are going up. Sheriff Jon Spunaugle, appearing in front of the board of supervisors meeting on Wednesday morning, stated the fees are due for an increase.
The rise in fees performed by the sheriff’s office is as follows:
*Inmate room and board-work release-$60.00 per day.
*All requested reports-$10.00
*Fingerprints processed by the jail-$20.00 for the first card, and $10.00
*County Sheriff’s Office will charge for the postponement/cancellation of sheriff sales for $100.00. (This amount will reimburse the sheriff’s office for time spent scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling sheriff’s sales.
On another topic, Sheriff Spunaugle, speaking on behalf of the committee, discussed RAGBRAI camping in the grassy area on the law enforcement property.
Spunaugle will not open the facility for restroom use. He says the campsite committee believes they can place 30 to 40 tents outside the Law Enforcement Center.
RAGBRAI starts on July 20 in Glenwood and travels for overnight stays in Red Oak on July 21, Atlantic on July 22, and Winterset on July 23. The route finishes with stays in Knoxville, Ottumwa, and Mt. Pleasant and ends at Burlington.
