(Minden) Several non-profit groups are participating in Iowa’s tornado disaster recovery. A team with the Iowa-based GoServGlobal organization sent teams to Minden and volunteers to several western Iowa farms.
Barb Meister of GoServGlobal says they are sending a team to Greenfield soon. Meanwhile, five adults and four dogs sought shelter in a basement during the Greenfield tornado. They shared a video of their experience through the tornado. One of the individuals feared for their life as the tornado hit. After the tornado passed, they emerged to witness the destruction, with the family members claiming to be still haunted by the sound. As cleanup efforts continue in Greenfield, flags fly on Memorial Day to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
