(Cumberland) Friends and family are rallying around a longtime coach and educator this weekend.
Steve Pelzer of Cumberland, the event spokesperson, says Dan Daugherty was diagnosed with Cancer. Pelzer says the Dan Daugherty Family Benefit is scheduled for Saturday, June 1, at the Cumberland Community Building starting at 4:00 p.m.
Dan, now retired, taught and coached at Bridgewater-Fontanelle, later at Nodaway Valley, and CAM.
Pelzer says the social hour starts at 4:00 p.m., the Cass County Cattlemen will grill a free-will donation meal at 4:30 p.m., and a live auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. Live Music will follow the live auction.
If you cannot make it and would like to support the family, donations can be left at the FNB Bank in Massena or mailed to 101 Main Street, Massena, Iowa, 50853. The checks can be made out to Dan Daugherty Benefit. There is also a Venmo account: @DaughertyBenefit. More information can be found on the Dan Daughterty Benefit Facebook Page.
Again, that is Saturday, June 1, starting at 4:00 p.m. at the Cumberland Community Building.
