(Des Moines) Drought conditions continue to ease across the state. Rod Donavon with the National Weather Service in Des Moines says recent rainfall in Iowa improved drought conditions.
Donavan says drought conditions persist in portions of the northeast, and east central Iowa.
Meanwhile, the entire state is nearly wiping any drought off the map. Donavon says another weather pattern will move across the state’s western portion next week.
Donavon says that based on the D1 areas, the state is down to 25 to 35 percent in the D1 drought category in east central and northeast Iowa. He says we have a few dry days ahead of us until the next weather system, which is expected to bring heavy rain to the area next week.
