Jason Edward Gardner, was born June 9, 1978, in Omaha, NE. Jason died at his home in Oakland, IA, on May 12, 2024, at the age of 45 years, 11 months, and 3 days.
Jason attended Oakland High School and then later received his GED and Welding Certification from Denison, IA, in 2003. On April 28, 2017, he was united in marriage to Sonya Renee Fender in Council Bluffs, IA. Jason lived in Oakland for most of his life.
Jason loved WWE Wrestling, gardening, sketching, listening to music (especially Blue October), playing card games, and board games.
He is preceded in death by his grandpa Leonard Gardner; uncles, Todd and Brian Gardner; father-in-law Jim Fender; grandma Mary Bringleson; and his beloved dog Max.
Jason is survived by his wife Sonya Gardner of Oakland, IA; son Slade of Oakland, IA; mother Bonnie Bringleson of Oakland, IA; sister Mary Bornhoft and husband Chad of Omaha, NE; sister Rachel Comstock and husband Randy of Oakland, IA; brother Bubba Bringleson of Oakland, IA; grandma Mary Gardner; grandpa Bob Bringleson; mother-in-law Sharon Fender of Carroll, IA; brother-in-law Scott Fender and wife Deb of Manilla, IA; sister-in-law Shellie Johnston and husband Bob of Carroll, IA; sister-in-law Lori Turner and husband Mark of Elliott, IA; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; and his fur babies: Bear, Tag, and Cisco.
A celebration of life visitation for Jason will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024, from 4-7 PM, at the Oakland Community Building in Oakland, IA. A time of sharing will be at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is assisting the family.
