(Anita) The CAM School Board has approved the next year’s certified and non-certified teaching contracts.
Superintendent of Schools Paul Croghan says that with the new laws increasing the minimum salaries for teachers’ wages, the district is fortunate to give the teaching staff a $7.650.00 raise and a $1.00 per hour increase to non-certified employees. He says the total package increase, including administrators, is 9.05 percent, and with the teacher and extra duty wages, it is 13.3 percent.
On another note, Croghan says there is another change in how insurance companies are insuring roofs.
In other business, the district is selling the excess equipment in the North Elementary building to the public. Additionally, the school board asked Mr. Croghan to find out if grant money was available to help finance the demolition of the building. The district continues to work on moving the daycare to the newer gym addition, which must be done before anything else can be done.
