(Stuart) Bob Kempf is retiring after 19 years at the helm of the Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Agency. Today is his last day on the job.
Bob Kempf started in a part-time position as the Guthrie County Emergency Management Coordinator and Adair County until 2017, when the two agencies officially joined together, elevating Kempf to a full-time position.
Over the years, Kempf enhanced the Agency by developing an overall county emergency operations plan.
Kempf noted that over the years, the agency developed many partnerships.
Under Kempf’s direction, both counties are storm-ready in the eyes of the National Weather Service, very involved in social media, and have won an award for bringing social media forward for emergency management.
Bob Kempf thanks everyone for all the friendships formed over the past 19 years. He wishes Jeremy Cooper, the new Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Coordinator, the commission, and the agency success.
The public is invited to a retirement celebration honoring Robert Kempf, on Thursday, May 30, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Guthrie Center Activities Center, at 209 State Street, in Guthrie Center.
