(Des Moines) Des Moines Police announced heightened security measures at Des Moines schools on Monday following a threat against East High School.
The threat circulated on social media late Friday, prompting police to take precautionary steps despite authorities’ reassurances that it was not deemed credible. Des Moines Schools spokesperson Phil Roeder confirmed collaboration with police on enhanced security measures for East High School when classes resume.
Des Moines, East is the seventh largest high school in the state with 2,076 students.
