(Atlantic) Laurie Fell, Kindergarten Teacher at Washington Elementary School in Atlantic, was awarded the Charles E Lakin Outstanding Teacher Award.
Jennifer Green, representing the Charles E Lakin Foundation, explained the award to the Washington Elementary students during a ceremony Thursday afternoon.
The Atlantic School District also gets $2,500.
Green said they had over 245 nominations for teachers this year.
Laurie Fell was shocked to receive the award.
One of Laurie’s students, Wyatt Shiels, had this to say.
Fellow Washington Kindergarten Teacher Dara Bartz said she started out with Mrs. Fell her first year.
Laurie Fell has been teaching around 40 years.
