(Red Oak) A Red Oak man suffered possible minor injuries in a SUV vs motorcycle accident in Red Oak.
The Red Oak Police Department says the accident occurred in the 1400 block of North 4th Street at approximately 11:53 a.m. on Friday. 67-year-old Annette Archer, of Red Oak, was driving a 2014 Hyundai Tucson, backing onto North 4th Street from the alley on the east side of the roadway. Archer’s view was partially obscured due to parked vehicles along the road. As she was backing onto 4th Street, Archer failed to see a 2017 Harley Davidson being driven northbound by 55-year-old Ronald Lorenz, of Red Oak. Lorenz was unable to maneuver quickly enough to avoid a collision. The motorcycle struck the passenger side rear of the SUV and then tipped onto its side.
Lorenz went to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital by private vehicle to be checked out by medical personnel for possible injuries.
Archer was cited for Failure to Yield Upon Entering Through Highway.
