Pieken says instead of using memory benches, she is considering something educational, such as a math problem. She says the picnic tables will be secured and painted brightly, mimicking the theme of the entire Pad.
Additionally, Pieken says the area will have toddler and family bays with separate activators. She says Stamp Construction will start in-kind site preparation work in a couple of weeks. The Henley Group will start construction this summer, and as Pieken reported earlier, the goal is to have the project completed by Labor Day. The Pad, located near the Sunnyside pool, is approximately 4,000 to 5,000 sq. ft. It showcases a variety of water features, shade structures, and seating and is free for all to enjoy.
