(Ames, IA) – Iowa State men’s basketball has received a commitment from former St. Mary’s forward Joshua Jefferson. He will be transferring to Iowa State with a total of two years of eligibility remaining.
Joshua Jefferson played for two years with St. Mary’s while averaging 10 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Looking at his ability on the floor, he shot just 26.7% from the three-point mark but was a dominant player from mid-range while shooting 40.9% overall. The only thing that plays into this is that he last appeared in a game on February 10th before having to get surgery which ended his sophomore season with the Gaels.
Iowa State is continuing to rebuild their team this offseason which has included an already large transfer class of Seattle’s Brandton Chatfield, UNI’s Nate Heise, and Charlotte’s Dishon Jackson.
In an interview with Connor Ferguson, Jefferson stated, “I feel like Iowa State was a perfect fit for me and my play style. I wanted to go somewhere that’s going to have national coverage and be able to play against the best teams in the country.”
He will be joining an Iowa State team that went 29-8 overall and 13-5 in conference action while making it to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA tournament.
