(Atlantic) The Nishna Valley Family YMCA in Atlantic received another anonymous donation to help recruit staff for Sunnyside Pool operations this summer.
The donation will pay for an additional five people to take the life-guarding class who plan to work for the YMCA, as well as a sign on bonus for those that act quickly. The lifeguard class starts May 3rd so you will need to act fast to take the swim pre-test as well as the online portion of the training before in-class work on May 3 from 5-7 p.m. and May 4th and 5th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. All three days must be attended and passed to be certified. Talk to Executive Director Dan Haynes by April 27th at Noon.
Individuals hired between now and May 7th can be eligible for a $500 sign on bonus if you are a certified lifeguard and hired by the YMCA.
The YMCA has a new increased starting wage of $15 per hour or more depending on experience for all life-guarding positions. The YMCA is also hiring a seasonal manager and assistant manager for Sunnyside Pool. These positions will pay up to $25 per hour, depending on experience. The Manager position requires leadership skills to lead a staff team and provide a safe, fun, professional and encouraging atmosphere. This position will come with a free one-year adult or family membership to the YMCA and support from the newly formed Aquatics Committee.
The YMCA wishes to thanks the anonymous donors who have stepped up to help put the YMCA in a good place to open Sunnyside Pool and have a positive impact on kids and families in the community.
