(Des Moines) Western Iowa is under a Wind Advisory from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service, southwest winds of 25-to-30 miles per hour with gusts to 45 miles per hour are forecast to make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. The gusty winds could play havoc on unsecured objects, and tree limbs could be blown down, causing a few power outages.
A Wind Advisory means sustained winds of 30 miles per hour and frequent gusts of at least 45 miles per hour are occurring or expected within the next 36 hours.
