(Atlantic) Atlantic Mayor Grace Garrett administered the Oath of Office to new Atlantic Police Officer Kelby Smith at Wednesday’s City Council meeting. Smith was hired full-time with the Atlantic Police Department in April 2024. Kelby has been a member of our reserve unit since 2020. He graduated from CAM High School and has spent most of his life in Cass County. He has a previous background in public safety as a full-time EMT and a member of the Adair Fire Department. Kelby is married with three children and stays active, attending their sporting and special events. In his spare time, he enjoys working out and being outdoors.
