(Council Bluffs) The Lewis Central boys’ track team captured the title at their home meet on Wednesday. Stormy weather postponed the meet to Wednesday night. The Titans scored 117.5 points, led by Ethan Eichhorn’s top finishes in the 800, 1600, and 3200-meter races. The Titans placed second in three events and picked up a handful of third-place finishes.
Atlantic finished second with 87. Devon Fields and Grant Petty finished one-two in the 400 meters, Tye Houser finished third in the 100, Colton Rasmussen fourth in the 110 Meter Hurdles and seventh in 400 Meter Hurdles, Preston Williams and Corbin Ritter finished fourth and fifth in the 800, and Braden Spurr eighth in the 3200. In the relays, the Trojans finished third in the 4×100, 4×800, and Sprint Medley Relays. Fourth in the 4×400, fifth in the 4×200, and Distance Medley. Cohen Bruce and Xavier Darrow went fifth and sixth in the Discus.
Cade Sears and Matthew Sorfenden highlighted Harlan’s performance with a one-two finish in the 100 meters in 10.88 and 11.15, respectively. The Cyclones topped the field in the 4×100 meters in a blistering time of 42.63 and finished first in the 4×200 meter relay in 1:29.57.
