(Ames, IA) – Former Iowa State Cyclone, Nyamer Diew, has announced her commitment to Colorado women’s basketball for her final season of eligibility.
This season for Iowa State, Diew played in 30 games and made 19 starts for the Cyclones. Throughout the season, Diew averaged 5.9 points and 3.1 rebounds while helping lead the Cyclones to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. She started off the season in non-conference action with a bang, scoring 20 points against Troy and even pulled down a season-high nine rebounds against Butler at the start of the season.
Diew formally played at Butler in 2021-21 before transferring to play with Bill Fennely and the Cyclones. Throughout her career, the current senior has played in 107 games and started in 44 games, averaging 5.7 points and 3.3 rebounds per game while shooting 37.7% from the field.
The Minnesota native is the first transfer of the season for the Buffaloes who will have basically a new roster this season with seven transfers out and five graduates. Diew will be one of the few players that fill the open spots on this Colorado team this season.
During her three seasons at Iowa State, she helped the Cyclones to three NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the Sweet 16 in 2022.
