(Griswold) The Griswold School District’s tax rate continues to drop.
Griswold Schools Superintendent Dave Henrichs says the levy has decreased from $13.09 per one thousand dollars of valuation to $13.05, $12.94, and $12.78 for the 2024-2025 Fiscal Year Budget.
Henrichs says the district also makes advanced payments on the district’s GEO bond used to build the elementary building each year.
The Griswold school board kicked off Monday’s meeting with the budget hearing. There were no comments, and later in the meeting, the board approved the levy rate of $12.78 per one thousand dollars of valuation.
Dave Henrichs reported that all teaching positions have been filled.
New Hires: Pluma Pross, Head Cross Country Coach; Cody McCreedy, Middle/High School Social Studies Teacher and Assistant Baseball Coach; Ryan Jackel, Middle/High School English Teacher; Scott Robinson, Summer Custodian; Abby Parrott, Elementary Classroom Teacher Cole Cooper, Middle/High School P.E. and Health Teacher, and Middle School Football Coach. and Julie Frizzell, Elementary Special Education Teacher.
Resignations: Rebecca Bryan, Middle/High School Special Education Teacher, Cade Carstens, Middle/High School P.E. and Health, Teacher, and Rachel Kramer, elementary special education teacher. All of these resignations are effective at the end of the school year.
Henrichs says an administrative position is open. Middle/High School Principal Stephanie Brady submitted her resignation. Henrichs says the board is in the process of setting up interviews for the position on April 12.
