Missouri Valley Sweeps Dual Against AHSTW in Golf Action

(Avoca, IA) – At the Avoca CountryView Club on Friday, the Missouri Valley Big Reds were able to sweep the AHSTW Vikings with the boys winning 164-188 while the girls earned a score of 243 winning on the evening. On the girl’s side, they were led by Henley Arbaugh who shot a 47 (+11) on the course. Arbaugh felt like she shot pretty well out on the course, especially given the beyond-perfect conditions on Friday evening.

Right behind her was runner-up Izzy Vogel who shot a 62 on the day (+26). While she thought that she could’ve shot better out on the course, she was able to earn runner-up and has so much room to grow as she is just a freshman.

Looking ahead for Missouri Valley, as an inexperienced girl’s team, Arbaugh feels that this win means a lot in terms of moving forward for the Lady Reds.

On the boy’s side, Evan White earned the medal on the day while shooting a 39, tying with Jackson Tennis who earned runner-up. White was not only proud of how he golfed out on the course but was proud of the team earning a 164 and is looking for improvements in both himself and his teammates to become an even better team.

Jackson Tennis earned runner-up with a score of 39 in the dual. He is looking forward to the Missouri Valley Boys Golf Invite next Saturday to play an 18-hole game. Tennis’ goal in this is to be able to break that school record.

Missouri Valley returns back to action on Thursday, April 18th against Audubon while AHSTW looks to return back to the course on Monday against IKM-Manning at home.
