(Council Bluffs) A Hancock, Iowa, man faces attempted murder and other charges in connection with an incident on Wednesday evening.
According to the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office, 23-year-old Spencer Steven Prusia of Hancock faces charges of Willful Injury Resulting in Bodily Injury, 1st Degree Harassment, Threaten Forcible Felony, Attempt to Commit Murder, and Burglary 1st Degree—Bodily Injury.
Pottawattamie County Sheriff’ Sergeant Jim Doty tells KSOM/KS95 News that deputies were dispatched to 208 Main Street in Hancock at 5:28 p.m. for a home invasion. When they arrived, the male victim stated Spencer Prusia rang the doorbell, and when the victim answered the door, Prusia started inquiring about an individual. The victim said the person in question had not lived there for ten years. Prusia stated he did not believe him, and when the victim tried to shut the door, Prusia forced his way into the residence and placed a choke hold on the male. The victim told authorities Prusia stated “he wanted to kill him.” The victim eventually got away, and Prusia fled the home. Deputies located Prusia at his residence and transported him to the Pottawattamie County Jail.
The victim was treated at the scene by EMTs.
