(Des Moines) The Iowa House passed an education bill defining inappropriate relationships and grooming.
Iowa House Representative Tom Moore, of Griswold, says HF 2487 previously passed the House 99-0 and passed the Senate 49-0 and went back to the House with changes from the Senate. He said this bill lays out different levels of inappropriate relationships, as well as adds a definition of “grooming behavior”.
The bill also adds a process for those who file a complaint and those who the complaint was filed on to see the status of their case. And, it adds that the Board of Educational Examiners shall submit criminal findings to law enforcement.
