(NAFB) The Nebraska Department of Agriculture is monitoring the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza outbreak in dairy cattle. The NDA has issued restrictions on dairy cattle entering the state. Roger Dudley, the Nebraska State Veterinarian, talks about the requirements:34 OC…”those animals.”
The importation order will require all breeding female dairy cattle entering Nebraska to obtain a permit issued by NDA prior to entry. He says the permitting process shouldn’t take too long.
Dudley talks about how long the restrictions will be in effect.
HPAI has been detected so far in lactating cattle from Texas, New Mexico, Kansas, Michigan, and Idaho. More information is available at nda.nebraska.gov.
