(Red Oak) Red Oak Fire Chief John Bruce says firefighters responded to a field fire on Tuesday afternoon.
Chief Bruce says the call went out at 12:34 p.m. for a fire at M Avenue and 220th Street. The Chief says a UTV was mapping the field when it sparked the blaze. Firefighters contained the fire to less than an acre of corn stalks.
Chief Bruce gives a special shout-out to the responding farmers with tractors and disks.
Stanton, Red Oak, and Villisca Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene.
