(Iowa City, IA) – The Iowa Men’s and Women’s track and field teams had an impressive performance at Saturday’s Jim Click Shootout and Multi’s. That was led by Rivaldo Marshall who set the men’s 800-meter school record.
Rivaldo Marshall beat the 800-meter record by four hundreds of a second on Saturday. He ran a 1:45.86 to claim his second school record. He also is the first Iowa men’s National Champion since 1998. His time ranks third in Division I this season and meets the Olympic trials standard. Coming up right behind him was Caleb Levy who earned third with a time of 1:49.39 in the 800-meter.
The 800-meter run also went well on the women’s side with Katie Moore earning the championship time of 2:10.45 while Jalyssa Blazek earned fifth place with a 2:14.86 time.
Both the men’s and women’s track teams will return to action on April 11th through the 12th.
