(Montgomery Co) The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors approved ARPA funding for the dispatch headset project.
Jackie Laire, E911 Communications, explained they upgraded their 911 system a year ago in February and at that time their current phone company said they could not meet the specs in order to hook headsets up for the 911 calls coming in, their radio system, and their admin lines.
Laire said they are able to do that with a certain connection, however, in doing so it’s going to cost some money to get it set up.
Laire asked the board for $33,730.18 out of ARPA funds to complete the project. She said at this point it is not in the Communications budget.
The Supervisors agreed this is not a department they want to scrimp on due to the importance of the job. The board approved the PSAP Agreement with HSEMD for NG911 Services with the amount of $33,730.18 coming out of ARPA funds.
