(Des Moines, IA) — A natural gas rate increase is now approved for MidAmerican Energy customers, but it will be less than the company asked for. The original request was to increase MidAmerican’s revenues by six-point-one percent. The Iowa Public Utilities Board approved a 3.8-percent increase in revenues. That will work out to a customer rate increase of 2.4 percent… or a dollar-86 more on the average monthly bill.
