Boyd “BZ” Haley, 58, of Clarinda, Iowa, died, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the Montgomery County Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa.
Boyd Zane was born on June 15, 1965, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of DeWitt and Marjorie (Hoschar) Haley.
Boyd was a gearhead, turning wrenches on anything he could get his hands on. Over the years he not only worked on his own muscle cars and motorcycles but also did for others. Boyd took any chance he could to hit the pavement on his pride and joy 1999 Harley Davidson Night Train; his son’s house being a top destination. He lived a simple life and made the most out of it; even with his ups and downs he would give the shirt off his back to help others before himself. He was the happiest spending time with family and friends with a cold Milwaukee’s Best, a.k.a. “The Beast,” in his hand.
Boyd’s jokes and happy go lucky personality will be deeply missed by his son, Zackary (Liz) Haley; daughter, Chelsie (Mike) Howell; grandchildren, Zander, Jayda, Uriah, Maylie, and Elabee; brother, Wade Haley; sisters, Becky Pond and Laura (Dennis) Newton; nephews, Anthony Pond and Adam Mattson; extended family; and countless friends including those closest to him, Jeff Raines, Alan Gray and Rich “Fatman” Baldwin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, DeWitt and Marge Haley; granddaughter, Jazmin Haley; brothers, Lloyd Haley and Witty Haley; and brother-in-law, Larry Pond.
