(Cass County)—Cass County has announced that patrons interested in voting absentee for the June 4th Primary Election may file requests for absentee ballots with the Cass County Auditor’s Office starting today. Due to recent legislation, the period to request absentee ballots has been reduced from 120 to 70 days. You have 20 days to vote absentee by mail or in person.
Voters must complete an absentee ballot request form and return it to the Cass County Auditor’s Office at 5 West 7th Street, Atlantic, Iowa, before 5:00 p.m. May 20th. To access the form, click this link: Auditor’s Office—Cass County, Iowa (casscountyia.gov). You can also access it from the Cass County Elections website. You can also get a form from the Cass County Auditor’s Office or call 712-243-4570.
Since this is a Primary Election, absentee voters are reminded that they must choose which party’s ballot they want to vote. There is a nominating process for Libertarian, Democratic, and Republican parties to see who will appear on the General Election ballot in November. If you have any further questions, contact the Cass County Auditor’s Office at 712-243-4570.
