(Avoca, IA) – AHSTW features a boy’s golf team this season that has almost been practicing for two weeks. While the Vikings have not been able to hit the greens due to the weather playing a bit of a factor, the Vikings have been able to hit the practice greens to get ready for the start of the season next week.
The Vikings feature a very talented squad of twelve boys this season. Those twelve include returning seniors Drew Lee, Nate Jorgensen, and Justin Freeman who all return to the course this season. With those three seniors, the Vikings also feature Kaden Jorgensen, Tyson Osbahr, Zach Nielsen, Logan Heller, Cash Freeman, and Nick Denning who look to come swinging into action early this season. Head Coach Aaron Allspach is excited to see what his boys can do early this year.
While the weather may not show it, the golf season is less than a week away with the AHSTW Triangular coming up on Tuesday, March 26th. This meet will feature Exira-EHK and CAM for both the varsity and junior varsity golfers. The anticipation is one thing that has kept the Vikings on their toes for this first time to hit the greens on a competitive level.
In his official first year of coaching golf, Coach Allspach is just enjoying his time around his athletes. This is an easy group to coach as they’re looking to continue to learn and get better so that their performance on the course is their best yet.
AHSTW hosts Tuesday’s Triangular at the Avoca CountryView Club starting at 4:00 p.m. We will have all the coverage for you right on our website at Western Iowa Today.
