(Des Moines) According to AAA, the price of regular unleaded gasoline rose three cents to an average of $3.17 across Iowa, down six cents from one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.40, up one cent from last week’s price.
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.28 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $79.11. Brent crude oil rose $.91 and is currently priced at $83.47. One year ago, WTI crude was sold for $74.80, and Brent crude was $79.67.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa rose 1 cent this week with a statewide average of $3.78. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.92 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 26 cents lower than the national average of $4.04.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
Propane prices averaged $1.59 per gallon statewide. Home heating oil prices averaged $3.18 per gallon statewide. Natural gas prices fell 25 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $1.68.
