(Atlantic) The Atlantic School Board approved bringing back the girls swimming program for the fall of 2024.
Last year it was decided to no longer offer the swimming program as the last two Atlantic Community School District swimming athletes were graduating. Now, interest has grown and they believe there will be enough numbers to support the program now and into the future.
Not only are there students at the Atlantic School District interested in the program, there are other school districts possibly interested too.
School Board Member Josh McLaren said this was easy discussion for him since the foundation and groundwork is there and it has been nothing but a great program. McLaren made the motion to approve bringing back the girls swimming program for the Fall of 2024 and the board unanimously agreed.
