(Des Moines) The price of regular unleaded gasoline rose eight cents, averaging $3.14 across Iowa, according to AAA. This is three cents lower than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.39, up 10 cents from last week’s price.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 3 cents this week, with a statewide average of $3.77. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.94 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 29 cents lower than the national average of $4.06.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.35 per barrel and is currently at $78.83. Brent crude oil fell $1.46 and is currently at $82.56. One year ago, WTI crude sold for $80.46, and Brent crude was at $85.86.
Propane prices averaged $1.59 per gallon statewide. Home heating oil prices averaged $3.14 per gallon statewide.
Natural gas prices rose 7 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $1.93.
