(Harlan) The Harlan City Council approved the sale of real estate at Tuesday’s meeting. The contract is with S & R Baker Real Estate for a city-owned property at the G.H. Christiansen Subdivision.
The plans included a spec model home at the subdivision until it is sold. The public can tour the model home to get a feel for the housing development project’s concept.
The buyer will obtain a building permit from the city within 12 months. All construction will be completed within two years of the contract’s execution. When the buyer executes the agreement, a non-refundable purchase price payment of $5,000 for lots 40 through 44 will be made to the seller.
For lots 21-23 and 25, construction must be completed within three years of the contract. Upon purchasing a house plan and obtaining a building permit from the city for a given lot, the buyer must pay the non-refundable purchase price of $1,000 for the given lot. Lots 21 and 22 are not eligible for development before October 1, 2024.
