(Atlantic) Today is the first day for candidates to file papers for county offices, and the Cass County Democratic Party is allowing people to find out the role of local government on Saturday, March 9. from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the American Legion Memorial Building. The event open to the public is titled “Local Office, Boards, and Commissions Panel Q & A.”
According to Ciara Hoegh of the Cass County Democrats, the panelists sharing their experiences include Wendy Richter, Todd Weppler, Phil Hascal, and Sandy Sothman.
Richter currently serves as a Cass County Supervisor, Todd Weppler was last elected to the Cass County Agricultural Extension Council, Sothman was appointed to the Cass County Conservation Board, and Hascall serves on both the Airport Zoning Board of Adjustment and the Cass County Zoning Board of Adjustment.
LaVon Eblen, will moderate the session. She also served on the Cass County Local Food Policy Council, and Healthy Cass County.
The doors open at 9:45 a.m., and a light breakfast is provided.
