(Des Moines, IA) — Iowa National Guard troops and law enforcement officers will once again head to the U.S. southern border this spring.
“Our National Guard is reaching out to the Texas National Guard, they are coordinating timing. There is probably going to be 25 Governors that have committed to sending some troops and probably some law enforcement down to Texas,” said Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds. “I think we’re looking at the April time frame.”
She says over 100 troops and law enforcement agents will be sent to support border patrol this spring.
