(Iowa City, IA) – Iowa Head Coach Lisa Bluder has been named to the Werner Ladder Naismith Coach of the Year Late-Season Watchlist. She was previously a winner of the award in the 2019 season.
This award is presented to the most outstanding men’s and women’s basketball head coach who leads their team to off and on-court success. Bluder has done just that this season alone with 20+ victories to mark her eighth consecutive season with 20+ wins.
Looking at her coaching history, Bluder is the leading coach in Big Ten wins, the most tenured coach in the conference, and has won the most Big Ten titles. Bluder has also done an amazing job in the recruiting game, with two consensus National Players of the Year. Iowa also currently has the longest active streak of 15 weeks at the AP Top Five mark.
Iowa and Bluder will return to the court when they battle the #14 Indiana Hoosiers in front of a sold-out Indiana crowd and a 7:00 p.m. tipoff.
