(Iowa City, IA) – Caitlin Clark has a chance to make the NCAA history books in tonight’s game against Michigan. The West Des Moines native currently leads in points, assists, and rebounds on a national level this season.
Clark currently sits at 3,520 total points in her career, just eight points away from the NCAA record that was set by Kelsey Plum. While she was held to 31 points against Nebraska, she is going into this game looking to continue her average of 32.1 points per game. Even if her average is cut in half, the Hawkeye will still break the record. Last week, she became the sixth women’s college basketball player to record a total of 1,000 assists in her career as the only player in the country with 750+ points, 175+ assists, and 150+ rebounds just this season alone.
The senior superstar was also just named as a semifinalist for the 94th AAU James E. Sullivan Award as she was the recipient of the award last season. You are able to vote for Caitlin Clark right on the James E. Sullivan Award website by clicking here.
While Clark is a top pick, the other semifinalists include JuJu Watkins from USC (Basketball), Cameron Brink from Stanford (Basketball), Bo Nix from Oregon (Football), and Madisen Skinner of Texas (Volleyball).
Iowa and Caitlin Clark jump onto the hardwood tonight as they battle Michigan at 7:00 p.m.
