(Council Bluffs) One person was hurt in a single-vehicle rollover accident on Highway 6 and 510th Street in Pottawattamie County on Tuesday.
The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened around 9:00 a.m. Authorities say the driver, identified as 71-year-old Linda Ann Jahnke, suffered injuries in the crash.
According to the accident report, Jahnke was driving a 2022 Ford Edge eastbound on Highway 6 at 510th Street when she stated her car moved and attempted to correct it, causing the vehicle to enter the ditch, striking a large mound of dirt causing the car to roll several times through the fence, coming to rest on its passenger side in the farm field. Authorities say all airbags deployed, leaving Jahnke trapped in the vehicle, hanging sideways from the seat belt.
Rescue released Jahnke from the car, and a medical helicopter transported Linda Ann Jahnke from the scene to Nebraska Medicine.
The fence sustained damage, and Jahnke will be cited for failure to maintain control.
