(Audubon) Firefighters from Exira Fire and Rescue and Brayton Fire and Rescue were called to a structure fire northeast of Exira on Sunday afternoon.
According to the press release from Audubon County Emergency Management/911 Coordinator Tyler Thygesen, the call went out at approximately 2:00 p.m. at 2845 Pheasant Avenue of the structure containing two helicopters, fuel, and a male victim who had received burns. The page went out at 2:11 p.m. for Audubon Fire and Rescue. Firefighters brought the fire under control and were completing an overhaul at around 3:37 p.m.
Exira Fire and Rescue transported the victim to the Audubon Airport and life-flighted to a burn center.
Brayton Fire and Rescue, Audubon Fire and Rescue, Life Flight, Audubon County EMA, and the Audubon County Sheriff’s Office assisted Exira Fire and Rescue.
